I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Cowboy

I'm Available

From Bait Dog to Brave Survivor

Cowboy is only about 2 years old, but his body carries the story of a lifetime of pain.
He never understood why the person he trusted walked away. One moment he had an owner… the next, he was tied to a pole, alone, confused, and crying out for help that never came. All he had was a leash cutting into his neck, a cold metal post that held him as a victim. He pulled, he screamed, he waited until his body gave out. Cowboy couldn’t run. He couldn’t defend himself. He was trapped as they tore into him, leaving a deep, brutal lacerations across his frail body —wounds that tells only a fraction of what he has survived.
When he was finally found and taken to the shelter on January 14th, Cowboy sat in his kennel shaking, hurting, and terrified. But the most heartbreaking part wasn’t just the fresh wound. It was the old ones also that told his past.

Cowboy wasn’t just abandoned. He had been used — over and over — as a bait dog. A living target. A victim of cruelty so severe that his entire body carries the evidence. He survived that horror… only to be thrown away again.

Hoardin’ Huskies may be a breed‑specific rescue, but compassion has no breed. Suffering has no breed. When a dog is in pain and we have the ability to help, we do. So we stepped in for Cowboy — because no one else did. Today, Cowboy is safe. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and receiving the medical care he desperately needed. He is heartworm positive, but he has already begun treatment and is on the path toward recovery. Cowboy is cautious with other dogs, and after everything he’s endured, he deserves to feel safe. He may do best as an only dog, where he can finally breathe without fear. He takes time to warm up to men, and who could blame him after the hands that failed him? He survived the unthinkable. Now he deserves the unshakeable — safety, love, and a home that will never, ever give up on him. Is it you? Adoption fee is $550 and includes transport to the Midwest, Northeast, or Southeast.
