Meet Honey! This 1 1/2 year old girl found her self pregnant and in a kill shelter, only after being pulled off of the cruel streets of Houston. She gave birth, but the babies wouldn't latch. Due to her environment and limited resources, the puppies were taken from her to bottle feed. Honey was left behind to die. Our rescue couldn't let this happen. Since then, they've been reunited. We're trying to do everything to help Mama Honey get her milk to come back in, but the babies are latching now. They are being bottle-fed to supplement. Honey is heartworm positive. She's growling at other dogs to protect her babies. This is typical behavior of a new mama, and we forgive her.
