Homemade Enrichment

Snuffle Mats

You can do this differently based on how interested your pup is. For an easy version, you can put a towel on the ground and scrunch it up while hiding treats inside. For a harder version, you can tie the towel in a knot while hiding treats inside. To make it even harder, tie several towels in a knot with treats inside. Let your pup enjoy!

Treats Under Objects

This can be done using several objects such as muffin tins. Take the muffin tin and place treats in every slot and cover eat slot with either tennis balls or place a towel over the entire thing. One can also place treats beneath a cup or beneath food containers. Anything you can hide the food under works, get creative! Let your pup enjoy!

Treats In Objects

Place treats inside of an open pop bottle, closed cardboard box, toilet paper/paper towel roll, empty tissue box, plastic takeout container and anything else you can think of! Get creative and let your pup enjoy!

Laser Pointers

This can be a hit or miss toy for your dog but if your pup has a high prey drive, they might enjoy this activity! It is a fabulous way to get energy out as it is a physically demanding activity for your pup!

Teaser Sticks

Very similar to the laser pointer, the teaser stick has a physical object that your pup can catch and is great for dogs who have a high pray drive! It is a fabulous way to get energy out as it is a physically demanding activity for your pup!

Long Leashes

This is a great alternative if you don't have a fenced in yard or are taking your pup to the park! A 20-to-30-foot leash allows your pup plenty of space to run and have fun while keeping them safe on a leash!

Car Rides

Not all dogs enjoy car rides, but some do! Take them with to get your morning coffee (maybe a pup cup for them too) or just to pick up a friend! This small activity can mean a lot to your dog and is a great way to get them out of the house to meet people! Be sure to not open your window all the way as well as have their leash tied to a secure location to ensure their safety! Additionally, do not drive your pup in an open roofed vehicle such as convertibles or jeeps as there is a high chance your pup might jump out.
